Moments worth a card on a Carnival cruise

1. Embarkation day and the sail-away

   Carnival sails from Galveston, Miami, Port Canaveral and other U.S. ports, and the first photo of the trip is usually taken at the terminal with the ship behind you. Save the better light for the sail-away, when the ship leaves the dock and the skyline slides past. Those two make the first cards of your set. 2. Cruise Elegant night

   Carnival calls its dress-up evenings Cruise Elegant. Its own suggestions are suits or dress slacks with a sport coat and dress shirt, or cocktail dresses, pantsuits and elegant skirts and blouses, and some guests go as far as a tuxedo or a ball gown. A cruise usually has one or two, your daily planner says which nights, and it is optional, so a card from that evening stands out. Name the card Cruise Elegant.

3. Your private island day

   Carnival ships call at Celebration Key on Grand Bahama, the line's own destination that opened in July 2025, and at Half Moon Cay, which it also markets as RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay. Type the island in the Port or place box and it is printed on the card and on its back. The Half Moon Cay guide covers where the photos are on that island.

4. Port days

   Give each stop its own card. Carnival's stop in Roatan is at Mahogany Bay, now called Isla Tropicale, which has a chair lift over the water to the beach. Cozumel, Costa Maya and Nassau have guides too, each with where the photos are and when the light is good.

5. The last night

   Finish the set with the card that closes the trip: the ship at the dock in the morning, or your group with the luggage. The back of every card says which day of the trip it is from, so the set reads like the week it was.

The ship's photographers, and your own

Ship photographers take portraits at embarkation, on the dress-up nights and in port, and sell them onboard. Those are their pictures, at their prices. Do I need the ship's wifi to make a card?
